Remember that show Scare Tactics? I do, and it was hilarious. For the those of you unaware of this master stroke in television history – it was your garden variety hidden camera prank show that came out in the early 2000s. What separated Scare Tactics from the glut of reality television being produced during that era was, as the name suggests, the scares. Every week some poor soul would get the bejesus scared out them purely for our amusement, and it was glorious. While watching I remember being keenly aware that this was dangerous. Not really for the mark, but for the cast involved in the prank. Some people don’t like being scared, and their reactions could be wildly unpredictable if pushed to their limit. As far as I know nothing serious ever happened, which is a relief, but also a bit of a disappointment, I like my reality TV dangerous. If someone’s not going to get punched in the mouth, what’s the point?

Enter Scare Campaign. We covered this movie a few months ago when a teaser was released, so you should know the deal by now. Feeling the pressure from a new competitor, the TV show Scare Campaign decides to push their luck by creating something that will shock even today’s modern desensitized youth… and as you can guess, things go horribly awry.

A new trailer was posted this week that shows us a bit more of what to expect when good pranks go wrong.

Popular prank TV show, Scare Campaign, has been entertaining audiences for the last 5 years with its mix of old school scares and hidden camera fun. But as we enter a new age of online TV the producers find themselves up against a new hard edged web series which makes their show look decidedly quaint. It’s time to up the ante, but will the team go too far this time, and are they about to prank the wrong guy?
