If the thought of war gives you anxiety, then you might want to stay away from Ad Infinitum. Developed by indie team, Strixlab, Ad Infinitum marries a historically accurate setting with a supernatural twist. Similar to Outlast, Ad Infinitum is a first person defenseless horror game, so needless to say: there’s going to be a lot of running.

According to the game’s Steam site, you’ll be solving “challenging puzzles to clear pathways and avoid deadly traps and sneak through a maze of trenches to hide from the manifested horrors of war”. Ad Infinitum is going to be running on Unreal Engine 4, so expect beautiful visuals. No word as to when the game is set to release and on what consoles, but rumor has it that a pre-alpha demo is set to hit Steam soon. Only time will tell. For now, check out the debut gameplay trailer below.

Ad Infinitum is an atmospheric single-player horror game, which puts you into a World War I setting experienced in a first-person perspective.

You find yourself in the trenches of a forlorn battlefield where vicious creatures lurk in the shadows. Solve challenging puzzles to clear pathways and avoid deadly traps and sneak through a maze of trenches to hide from the manifested horrors of war.

The surrealistic gameworld is based upon historical background information that is mixed with some fictional elements which all culminates in a subtle yet intense story.
