The anticipated follow up to The Conjuring’s first spin-off premiered last night at the LA Film Festival. The buzz coming out of the fest has been extremely positive, with a lot of praise particularly for David F. Sandberg’s ability to craft masterful scares. Though, considering the footage we checked out earlier this year at SXSW, this isn’t much of a surprise.  For those that weren’t able to attend, here’s a consolation prize in the form of a new trailer and poster.

Those that want to know as little about the plot as possible should steer clear of the trailer, below, as it seems to spell out most of the plot.  The trailer also makes it crystal clear that this sequel belongs in the Conjuring universe. Also on display is the doll’s makeover, or rather makeunder. What do you think?

The film stars Stephanie Sigman, Talitha Bateman, Lulu Wilson, Philippa Anne Coulthard, Grace Fulton, Lou Lou Safran, Samara Lee, Tayler Buck, Anthony LaPaglia, and Miranda Otto. David F. Sandberg directs the sequel from Gary Dauberman’s screenplay.
