April 2017: VOD/Theatrical Releases
Let’s be honest, while we get a selection of genre films on streaming sites monthly, we all know the real loot usually lies in the world of VOD and theaters. Last month alone we got some great titles such as The Devil’s Candy, Raw, and The Belko Experiment, and that’s just naming a few. And while the selection is not quite as rich as last month, we still have a handful of movies to look forward to in the month of April.

Plot synopsis: An unholy alliance between two damaged souls leads them on a disturbing descent into the depraved realms of black magic. Sophia (Catherine Walker) is a grieving and desperate woman with a secret. Joseph (SIGHTSEERS’ Steve Oram) is an anti-social, alcoholic expert in the occult who reluctantly agrees to help her. Holed up in a remote cabin amidst the desolate wilds of Northern Wales, the two embark on a grueling six-month series of dark rituals that will push them both to the physical and psychological breaking point. The debut feature from rising horror auteur Liam Gavin sustains an air of quietly creeping dread as it builds towards one hell of a payoff.
