The trailer to ASSASSINATION NATION dropped this morning, and damn does it look batshit crazy. The movie is about a town called Salem and how it lost its mind – and that seems like an understatement.

It’s hard to ignore the patriotic overtones, especially when the trailer gives a laundry list of trigger warnings to potential viewers, which only makes us more excited. Homophobia, Violence, Guns, Gore, Racism, Nationalism, Toxic Masculinity, Fragile Male Egos – it’s just about all here. And looking at the like-to-dislike ratio, it has fans divided right now.

ASSASSINATION NATION is written and directed by Sam Levinson (THE WIZARD OF LIES, ANOTHER HAPPY DAY). The movie has a stacked cast, too, staring Odessa Young, Hari Nef, Suki Waterhouse, Abra, Colman Domingo, Bill Skarsgård, Joel McHale, Anika Noni Rose, Bella Thorne, Maude Apatow, Cody Christian, and Danny Ramirez.

ASSASSINATION NATION hits theaters Sept. 21. Check out the trailer below.

This is a thousand percent a true story about how the quiet, all-American town of Salem absolutely lost its mind.
