I'm about to drop a truth bomb on you guys... ready?

Horror games are scarier than Horror movies.

I know–I can hear the collective groan roar across the internet before I’ve even hit the “submit” button for this post, but it’s true. At least, it’s true for me. As much as I love Horror cinema, I don’t find myself using the “S word” very often. But video games? They’ll “S word” the hell right out of me. But why? That’s a question I have found myself wondering for a while now, and it looks like I’m not the only one.

The folks at Bloober Team, the development team best known for the horror hit LAYERS OF FEAR, dives into the hidden horror of their latest title, >_OBSERVER_, and what they hope to achieve with this new subgenre of gaming. Even if you aren’t someone that typically plays video games, I urge you to explore what’s being offered in the gaming space right now as it pertains to horror. It’s incredible.

>_OBSERVER_ will change you…

I was very high on LAYERS OF FEAR in our official review, and I can’t wait to see more of what Bloober Team has to offer in its follow-up. >_OBSERVER_ is set to release later this year, so while we wait on more information to come our way, have a look below at our most in-depth look at the game we’ve seen so far in this candid and informed developer commentary. I get the feeling that even if you aren’t a gamer–>_OBSERVER_ will change you…

What would you do if your fears were hacked? The year is 2084. As you hack into the minds of criminals and their victims to find clues, you are forced to relive their darkest fears. How far will you go to discover the truth? Developed by Bloober Team, the creators of Layers of Fear, >observer_ is a cyberpunk horror game meant for mature audiences. What you see will disturb you.
