We recently reported on a potential new horror icon in the making; the titular Bye Bye Man that preys upon those who simply seem to discover his name.  It’s not unlike another icon, Freddy Krueger, who gained power just from teens believing in and fearing him.  Either way, the idea of a potential new horror villain is enticing.

In March, STX Entertainment moved up the release date from October to June 3rd, 2016. Unfortunately, that release date has changed yet again.  We now will have to wait until December 9th, 2016 to meet our newest boogeyman. It seems as though the Bye Bye Man might have been scared off by Michael Bay’s latest Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles installment.  It’s OK, so am I.

Directed by Stacy Title, Bye Bye Man stars Douglas Smith, Doug Jones, Michael Trucco, and Faye Dunaway.

Set in 1990s Wisconsin, when three college students move into an old house off campus, they unwittingly unleash a supernatural entity known as The Bye Bye Man, who comes to prey upon them once they discover his name. The friends must try to save each other, all the while keeping The Bye Bye Man’s existence a secret to save others from the same deadly fate.
