Claire Packs Heat in New ‘Resident Evil 2’ Footage

In the U.S. E3 reigns as the king of the gaming conventions. But on a global scale, Gamescom in Germany is actually the biggest exhibit of the year. With so much game media attention at the convention, Capcom saw fit to release new footage of Resident Evil 2 Remake, this time featuring Claire Redfield (the only Redfield that matters tbh) meeting Sherry and taking on G Birkin.

The gameplay footage looks promising. The first aspect to grab my attention is the voice acting. At the moment, I’m not sure who’s voicing Claire, but it’s better than she’s ever sounded before. Capcom, please keep that actor around. Claire’s animations are slick as hell too, the attention to detail when she reloads her revolver is impressive. In her battle against G, we get to see an expansive weapon load-out that’s typical for the series. It starts at handguns and ends with grenade launchers.

Resident Evil 2 is shaping up to be one hell of a remake. Between RE7 last year and RE2 coming early next year, Resident Evil is on its way to being a top-tier franchise once again.
