One of the questions that we hear more than anything else is: “What are some modern giant monster movies that you can recommend”? It’s a very specific request, and more often than not, we don’t really have an answer for it. But that might change with the new trailer for Nacho Vigalondo’s COLOSSAL.

While it might not be the horrifying experience that you’re looking for, our own Leslie Moore gave it a sky-high review back at the Toronto International Film Festival. Your mileage may vary, but this is one that I’m looking forward to. Luckily, we don’t have long to wait. COLOSSAL is set to release on April 7th, 2017. Check out the trailer below for a taste of what’s to come.

Gloria (Anne Hathaway) drinks too hard and parties too much. Her boyfriend has enough of it and throws her out. Gloria returns to her hometown, dreaming of making a new start, but instead revives her childhood friendship with Oscar (Jason Sudeikis), who runs a bar. After drinking a night away with Oscar and his friends, he wakes up to discover a gigantic monster rampaging through Seoul and realizes that somehow the monster is connected to her.
