My son’s favorite fuel for nightmares will soon be a series on Amazon.

If you aren’t familiar with LORE, here’s your chance. Since its 2015 start, over six million listeners have delved into the strange, mystical and downright unsettling stories and legends shared on the critically acclaimed podcast created by Author/Blogger, Aaron Mahnke. Starting this October, appropriately enough on Friday the 13th, LORE will be an original series on Amazon.

The show has already earned high praise from Entertainment Weekly and The Atlantic, even earning Best Podcast of 2015 from iTunes. Amazon Studios grabbed Mahnke’s creation last year, teaming up with Glen Morgan, an acclaimed Producer with credits that include The X-Files and The Walking Dead. The series is being developed by Gale Ann Hurd’s Valhalla Entertainment, who has brought us such hits as Aliens, The Abyss and of course The Walking Dead and its spin-off Fear the Walking Dead.

Exploring both the unexplained and the horrific, the LORE podcast has covered everything from ancient plagues, mysterious creatures and ghost ships to murderous love and the historical and bloody sins of religion. This new series will present a combination of live action, animation, narration and documentary-style footage, hopefully bringing LORE‘s brilliant auditory production to life.
