If you guys don’t already know, MONDO is an art gallery and online store that has some of the coolest film homage artwork that I have ever seen. They display and sell limited edition screen prints and soundtracks of some of our favorite films on vinyl. All have amazing cover art and even toys! They typically sell out as fast as they release new products, so it’s always good to keep an eye on them to see what’s on the way. Based in Austin, Texas, MONDO has a gallery which hosts regular exhibitions and features breathtaking original artwork, as well as limited edition prints. They aspire to be a creative home for fantastic, but perhaps unknown, artists waiting to be exposed. They even do an annual convention, MondoCon, that started in 2014. With that said here’s what’s coming up at MONDO:

MONDO, in collaboration with Howe Records, announces three incredible Howard Shore scores from classic David Cronenberg films Naked Lunch, Dead Ringers, and Crash. This is a continuation of the MONDO-Cronenberg series, which began with the soundtrack to Scanners and The Brood. This is the first time all three soundtracks have been available on vinyl. All offering beautiful and haunting design work.

Naked Lunch (available May 25th)

Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the score for Naked Lunch was composed by three-time Oscar-winner Howard Shore. Based on the novel by William S. Burroughs, Cronenberg takes the character of William Lee through his drug-fueled escapades through the fictional land of Interzone. Once referred to as a an un-filmable novel, Naked Lunch is one of the great book-to-film adaptations of our time.

Dead Ringers (available this June)

Based on the novel Twins, Dead Ringers, is a chilling tale about identical twin gynecologists, Elliot and Beverly, bipolar sides of one personality-who share the same practice, the same apartment, and the same women.

Crash (available this July)

Based on the novel by J.G. Ballard, Crash deftly explores the complex interpersonal relationships of a select few, who find themselves colliding head-on with the world of car-crash fetishism.  Crash is the first Cronenberg film to premiere at Cannes. John Bender wrote “Shore’s calculated instrumentation, mostly electronically manipulated guitars, harps and percussion, give Crash a cold and burnished metallic sound.” The perfect companion to an uncompromising filmmaker like David Cronenberg.
