Some horrors are even more horrifying when you know they actually happened.

That’s the case with Director Greg McClean’s new film JUNGLE starring Daniel Radcliffe. The film is based on the story of Yossi Ghinsberg, a young Israeli adventurer who in 1981 was lost in an uncharted part of the Bolivian jungle for three weeks, battling floods, fire ants, rotting skin, snakes, hallucinations. Needless to say, it was nowhere near your kind of camping trip.

Film fans will recognize Radcliffe from the Harry Potter film series, while fright fans will likely tick off such gems as The Woman in Black, Horns and Victor Frankenstein. Whatever film you know him from, Radcliffe has been a consistently talented actor who seems to skip with ease from genre to genre, stage to screen and back again.

Momentum Pictures is behind the action and you can enter the fray with Danny boy this October 20th when JUNGLE hits theaters, VOD and Digital HD. The film was written by Justin Monjo and also stars

Thomas Kretschmann (Downfall, King Kong), Alex Russell and Joel Jackson.

From the looks of the intense new trailer, you better take Modern Horrors‘ resident trailblazer Jacob Hopkins. If things get crazy, he’ll either be the one that saves you, or puts you on the menu. Either way, if you’re lost in this JUNGLE, make friends with him. Bon appetit.
An enthusiastic young adventurer follows his dreams into the Amazon jungle with two friends and a guide with a mysterious past. Their journey quickly turns into a terrifying ordeal as the darkest elements of human nature and the deadliest threats of the wilderness lead to an all-out fight for survival.
