The home-invasion genre generally takes a scared homeowner and a violent intruder and packs them into 90 minutes of tension as they play a game of cat and mouse. It’s all about survival for the family as they try to escape the invaders unscathed. But what happens when the homeowner doesn’t want to live? What if she’s in the middle of committing suicide? That’s the premise of EAT ME, which hits theaters and VOD platforms next month.

EAT ME, based on the play of the same name, takes Tommy, who took a handful of pills, whose home is invaded by two violent intruders who derail her planned suicide. The trailer looks claustrophobic and otherworldly. There’s just something about the presentation and the acting that feels uncanny, making it hard to look away from an otherwise ordinary home-invasion thriller.

EAT ME is directed by Adrian Cruz. Jacqueline Wright wrote the screenplay and the original play the movie is based on. EAT ME stars Wright (BURN AFTER READING), Brad Carter (TRUE DETECTIVE, SONS OF ANARCHY) and Michael Shamus Wiles (FIGHT CLUB, BREAKING BAD).

EAT ME gets a limited theatrical release March 2 before hitting VOD March 6.

Over the course of one torturous night, a suicidal woman and the violent home intruder that saved her life test the limits of human endurance and the boundaries of forgiveness.
