Turns out Jordan Peele (co-creator and co-star of Key & Peele) is a horror buff, and that’s just all kinds of awesome. Peele is looking to flex his genre muscles by writing and directing his feature film debut with the theatrical horror machine known as Blumhouse Productions. Before you write this one off as some slapstick comedy horror, check out what Peele has to say about the project:

“People know me for my work in comedy,” Peele says, “but now I’ll get to focus on my passion for writing and directing horror films. Like comedy, horror has an ability to provoke thought and further the conversation on real social issues in a very powerful way. GET OUT takes on the task of exploring race in America, something that hasn’t really been done within the genre since NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD 47 years ago. It’s long overdue.”

That’s pretty exciting, right? Not much else is known about Get Out, but rest assured, we’ll keep you posted with the latest news as it comes our way. Stay tuned.
