Nick Szostakiwskyj and co blew us away with Black Mountain Side back in 2016, and it wasn’t long after that that we began to hear rumblings of their drug-fueled follow up, Hammer of the Gods. Details surrounding the film have been scarce, but that didn’t stop us from including it on our 18 Indie Horror Flicks to Watch in 2018 article. I was beginning to think Szostakiwskyj would miss the 2018 window, but we’re thrilled to announce that Hammer of the Gods will be premiering at the HP Lovecraft Film Festival in Portland, OR which takes place this October 5th-7th.

Hammer of the Gods will be premiering at the HP Lovecraft Film Festival.

We figure there’s no better way to celebrate than offering up there first look at the film’s poster, so check it out below, and get your asses to Portland! We hope to have a lot more coverage in the not-so-distant future (and even something special on the way from Szostakiwskyj himself), so check out the official plot synopsis below, and stay tuned for more!

Plot Synopsis:

Hammer of the Gods follows falling-from-grace rock group, half a decade after the release of their hit single, as they travel deep into the Canadian wilderness on a spirit journey armed with a bag of psychedelic drugs. The journey seems harmless enough, until the isolated musicians begin to realize the terrifying hallucinations they are seeing and hearing aren’t hallucinations at all.
