Whenever they steal themselves away from a movie or television screen, it can be said that fans of Horror films are almost always fans of Horror novels.

One Horror author who’s been steadily gaining in popularity is Joe Hill. And now, AMC Television has green-lit a new series based on his acclaimed thriller NOS4A2. The title alone helps set the mood as it can eerily be pronounced, Nosferatu. This will be the second series based on Hill’s work as HULU is developing his Horror comic, Locke & Key.

Flashing backward and forward in time, Hill’s story concerns Vic McQueen, a woman trying to save her son from Charles Manx, a vicious child predator and killer who has set his sights on her son. Joe Hill’s father is Stephen King and readers have noticed how both writers often have their stories move throughout different phases of their character’s lives to dive even deeper into the story, much like King did with his classic IT.

For his part, Hill seems excited about seeing his horrors on the small screen, telling AMC, “Who wouldn’t want to be in business with the ‘Mad Men’ who ‘Broke Bad’ and made ‘The Dead Walk?“, adding, “I can’t wait to see Vic McQueen turn the throttle and go after Charlie Manx in 2019. Let’s ride.”

Jami O’Brien from AMC’s HELL ON WHEELS will serve as showrunner and executive producer. The 10-episode series will premiere in 2019.
