Director M. Night Shyamalan Announces ‘Split’ Sequel
If you still haven’t seen Split, the proceed with caution as major spoilers are to follow. M. Night Shyamalan just dropped this bomb on Twitter:
My new film is the sequel to #Unbreakable AND #Split. It was always my dream to have both films collide in this third film.
— M. Night Shyamalan (@MNightShyamalan) April 26, 2017
For those that haven’t seen Split, but are fond of spoilers, the ending revealed the entire film was set in the same world as Unbreakable with Bruce Willis reprising his role as David Dunn in a cameo. Shyamalan continued the thread to share that not only will Willis reprise his role for this new sequel, but so will James McAvoy as Kevin and his 23 additional personalities, and Anya Taylor-Joy as Casey Cooke.
Perhaps most intriguing of all, though, is that the director revealed the sequel’s title to be Glass. Indicating a return of Samuel L. Jackson’s Mr. Glass, maybe? It sure sounds like a team up between Casey and David versus The Beast and Mr. Glass. And I’m pumped!
Universal Pictures will release Glass on January 18, 2019 worldwide.
