In what is sure to be one of the most divisive episodes in recent memory, The Modern Horrors Podcast is taking the last show of the year to hand out some awards to the team’s favorite films of the year. But that’s not all…
We got our first full look at the new Pennywise from the IT remake, the ALIEN: COVENANT trailer is (almost) everything we hoped it would be, and TNT takes a “complicated” stance on its TALES FROM THE CRYPT reboot.
All of that plus a full review of THE AUTOPSY OF JANE DOE, #ASKMODERNHORRORS, and so much more on episode 86 of THE MODERN HORRORS PODCAST. Listen, review, and share!

Awesome episode, guys and thanks for answering my question. It gives me some kind of perverse joy.
I’ve got another question that you guys might be able to fuck with if you want, inspired by the other questions you answered on this show. Here’s the actual question:
What horror and non-horror universes would you guys mash up for awesome effect?
This is inspired by this idea I’ve been kicking around in my head forever. I want to see Jason Voorhees vs Batman. Everybody I’ve ever mentioned this to kind of tells me to fuck off but I can even put it in a fairly reasonable scenario. Say in the events of the movie Jason Takes Manhattan, Jason’s rampage on the ship knocks it off course and sends it heading to,
instead of New York, New Jersey which is where Gotham City is, according to the official DC Comics map and is right across the way from New York.
I mostly like to imagine the climactic battle between Batman and Jason Voorhees on the rooftops, similar to the fight where the boxer kid gets his head punched off (*spoiler alert*) but ending much differently. It’s Batman’s wits and will against Jason’s invincible nature and strength. Add in some Batman type research and maybe an iconic villain getting the axe by Jason’s rotted hand and you’ve got yourself a fucking movie.
Batman is my favorite superhero and Jason is my favorite horror icon if you couldn’t guess. Anyway, have fun with this if you want. Much love!
