It was just yesterday that we shared some early stills ahead of the debut HALLOWEEN trailer that drops this Friday. They certainly appear to be divisive thus far, but I have a feeling the online chatter won’t be stopping anytime soon now that USA Today has scored some plot detail about the upcoming Myers film. Check out the details below, and let us know what you think about the True Crime slant that the film is working with.

Me? I’m pretty pumped. Friday can’t get here soon enough.

HALLOWEEN hits theaters on October 19th.

The new Halloween brings back Laurie and Michael but also leans into pop culture’s current fascination with true crime (see also: Making a Murderer, Serial). A British documentary crew comes to the States to visit Michael in prison for a retrospective of the maniac’s night of terror — “Someone has to bring a modern audience into a 40-year old movie,” Curtis says — but their project becomes way more interesting when Myers escapes custody, retrieves his signature mask and seeks revenge on Laurie, with others naturally being part of his impressive career body count along the way.
