If the animal kingdom has taught us anything, it’s that you don’t mess with Moms. When faced with a threat or danger directed at their children, fangs will most assuredly be bared. In the first of a handful of character featurettes from the Spike network, we’re introduced to Eve Copeland, the caring and resilient Mom from the upcoming television series The Mist. And from the clip below, this Mom is no exception.

Played by Brisbane, Australia native Alyssa Sutherland, Eve is a determined and protective parent, ready to fight any demon, whether birthed from a Lovecraft tale or the neighborhood zealot. Sutherland, whose career in front of the camera began with modeling, has grown into film/television roles in The Devil Wears Prada, Don’t Look Up and the History Channel series Vikings.

Based on the 1980 Horror novella by Stephen King, The Mist has been re-envisioned for television by Exec Producer and Writer, Christian Torpe and produced by Spike by TWC-Dimension Television. The ten-episode series will premiere on Spike starting June 22nd at 10pm ET/PT.

Synopsis
THE MIST centers on a small town and a family torn apart by a brutal crime. As they deal with the fallout an eerie mist rolls in, suddenly cutting them off from the rest of the world, and in some cases, each other. Family, friends, and adversaries become strange bedfellows, battling the mysterious mist and its threats, fighting to maintain morality and sanity as the rules of society break down.
