I’ve always said if you’re going to throw the undead into anything, throw them into classical literature. Seriously, I’ve always said that. And thankfully Burr Steers’ Pride and Prejudice and Zombies looks like it’s up to the task of delivering a tongue-in-cheek zombie action movie while retaining the feel of the classic it’s based on.

The trailer that was released this weekend shows us Elizabeth Bennet (Lily James) and her ladies stabbing, kicking, and shooting hordes of zombies that probably had it coming. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies obviously doesn’t have to worry about taking itself too serious, but we’ll forgive you if you got chills when Charles Dance says his daughters were trained for battle not the kitchen. Hopefully the movie maintains the fun spirit of the trailer.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies hits theaters February 5th.

Jane Austen’s classic tale of the tangled relationships between lovers from different social classes in 19th century England is faced with a new challenge — an army of undead zombies.
