Just a few weeks removed from Jason Blum’s claims of Area 51 news coming “very very soon”, we have ourselves a release date and debut trailer. I gotta say… I’m pretty surprised this is finally happening.
If you’re unfamiliar; Oren Peli is the father of the Paranormal Activity series. He is perhaps the only person in existence that has done as much for the Found Footage subgenre as Eduardo Sanchez, so it should come as no surprise that Area 51 keeps that format. Will it be worth the years and years of rumblings and rumors? Who knows, but you can definitely get your first look below.
Area 51 is set for VOD and limited theatrical release on May 15th. Stay tuned, as we will definitely be checking it out ourselves.
