There’s something oddly refreshing about being able to share news of a new horror game that actually exists. Don’t get me wrong, Kickstarted projects make the world go round these days, but PHANTASMAL: CITY OF DARKNESS is actually available to purchase and play at this very second. In fact, you can get 20% off if you pick up the game on Steam before the end of the day. But why would you want to? Allow me to tell you.

PHANTASMAL: CITY OF DARKNESS is a procedurally generated gaming experience. That means the chances of you experiencing the same thing twice are fairly slim. That keeps the replay value high and the scare factor fresh. If that’s not enough to entice you, then consider the fact that the environments were crafted by the fella that worked in the production department for several Hollywood features (Including Ring 2), Brian Bell. But maybe you still need more–well we can help you with that. Check out the game in action in the trailer below, and let us know on social media if you plan on giving this one a shot. I will be.

Experience terror that is never the same twice with Phantasmal, a Lovecraftian survival horror that evolves every time you play!

You will need to face off against lurking, otherworldly horrors in the perilous, run-down Kowloon Walled City before its destruction in the early 90s. You are fragile. Not just physically, but mentally as well. The grotesque creatures will challenge your very sanity, and losing your mind can be a fate worse than death!

The odds are stacked steeply against you, but you can prevail through sheer cunning. You must scavenge for resources carefully, sneak past and distract your enemies. If you are caught, you can fight back, but don’t expect to live for very long.
