Well, this is surprising...

In a move that very few saw coming – Alchemy (formerly Millennium Entertainment) has acquired the rights to Rob Zombie’s upcoming feature, 31. Alchemy isn’t exactly known as a home for genre titles, especially genre titles that claim to be as “intense” as 31. Fear not though, as Zombie himself has said he is “thrilled to work with a company sharing the same vision for my film 31 as I have. Alchemy has committed to bringing the most intense experience possible to the screen.” So – take that for what it’s worth.

The news broke courtesy of Deadline. You can see the official statement below:

Alchemy has acquired North American rights to 31, a horror film by Rob Zombie that has just begin production in Los Angeles. The film stars Sheri Moon Zombie, Richard Brake, Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs, Jeff Daniel Phillips, Lew Temple, Meg Foster, and Malcolm McDowell. The deal was sealed by Alchemy CEO Bill Lee, who has been on a tear since restructuring and re-branding Millennium Entertainment.
