I’ve been following the progress of HELL HOUSE, LLC ever since the 2015 Telluride Horror Show. I even wrote a nifty little piece on it back in September of 2015. It looked like it might deliver the sort of film that we all wanted The Houses October Built to be, and it might be–I wouldn’t know. I haven’t seen it. That said, the crew at Dead Central was able to snag an exclusive first look at the trailer earlier this afternoon, and it looks like it could actually be something of interest. The problem is: Modern Horrors is rather egregiously misquoted in the trailer.

A line from my piece in 2015 which reads: “I always feel like the faux-documentary is one of the best utilizations of the found Footage sub genre.”

Is quoted as: “One of the best of the Found Footage genre.”

Some key pieces of that sentence are omitted, so let me be clear: I, nor any other staff member of Modern Horrors has seen this film. It might be rad (I still think it looks cool), but we aren’t off to a great start from a marketing standpoint.

Check out the official trailer below, and let us know what you think. HELL HOUSE, LLC releases on November 1st on VOD platforms.

Five years after an unexplained malfunction causes the death of 15 tour-goers and staff of a Halloween haunted house tour (Hell House), a documentary crew travels back to the scene of the tragedy to investigate the events of that night. During an interview with one of the original staff members, they are given never-before-seen footage taken by the staff of the haunted house. It reveals the terrifying truth about what really happened on the opening night of HELL HOUSE.
