In 2014, The Houses October Built delivered a found footage spin on a very under-explored setting in horror; haunted attractions. The concept and atmosphere was solid, and the film quickly developed a devoted fanbase. For others, however, the abrupt sort of non-ending drew ire. Our own Luke Rodriguez was decidedly mixed. Whether you’re in the love it or hate it camp, the team behind the film revealed a huge surprise today: a sequel is on the way! RLJE Films acquired North American distribution rights to the sequel, and its release is going to be much sooner than you think.

Everyone from the first film is back, too. Brandy Schaefer, Zack Andrews, Mikey Roe, Bobby Roe, and Jeff Larson all return to star in this stealth made sequel, which was also directed by Bobby Roe. Zack Andrews and Bobby Roe also co-wrote the script.

For those that hated the ending, or lack there of, this should come as a relief as it seems to indicate we’re getting more answers. Or are we? I suppose we have only until September to wait before we find out. Are you excited? Sound off below.

As they go back out on the road to experience more haunted house attractions, signs of the Blue Skeleton start appearing and a new terror begins…
