File this one under “…duh”, but apparently talks of remaking horror classic, The Exorcist, have existed for a little while now. Morgan Creek is selling domestic rights to 78 films, but it made a conscious effort to retain remake rights for 5. One of those films is The Exorcist.. Morgan Creek CEO Jim Robinson told Deadline ” “ideas are being tossed around” for a remake of The Exorcist.
Before you shit your pants – does it really matter? Haven’t we already seen countless remakes of The Exorcist, just with a different title? Films that cover exorcisms always tread the same water, and most of that water was poured in the original film. Making yet another predictable exorcism movie that shares a title and a few scenes of the original seems irrelevant and unavoidable. It’s gonna happen… it’s simply a matter of when.
