If you’re tired of major movie studios  – ahem, Disney – dominating the sci-fi space at your local theater, then it’s time to take a look at Prospect – a new movie from writers-directors  Zeek Earl and Christopher Caldwell (In The Pines, Redemption, Man). It looks gorgeous, authentic, original, and thrilling. What more could you want?

Prospect follows a teenager and her father as they travel to an alien planet looking to get rich. It’s like the Gold Rush in space – people looking for a quick buck. Except on this mission, things go wrong as the pair encounter some unsavory characters, which turn the straight-forward mission into a fight for survival.

The movie stars Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones, Narcos), Sophie Thatcher (The Exorcist) Jay Duplass (Transparent), Andre Royo (The Spectacular Now), Sheila Vand (Argo), and Anwan Glover (The Wire).

Prospect premieres Nov. 2 in Regal theaters nationwide before getting a digital release on SingularDTV’s blockchain-enabled VOD platform in 2019.

Plot Synopsis

A teenage girl and her father travel to a remote alien moon, aiming to strike it rich. They’ve secured a contract to harvest a large deposit of the elusive gems hidden in the depths of the moon’s toxic forest. But there are others roving the wilderness, and the job quickly devolves into a fight to survive. Forced to contend not only with the forest’s other ruthless inhabitants but with her own father’s greed-addled judgment, the girl finds she must carve her own path to escape.
