There are several films from the 2015 festival scene that you should be looking forward to this year. But one of the standouts is without a doubt Mickey Keating’s DARLING. Keating is fresh off of his other 2015 release, POD [Review], and is currently enjoying a successful run at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival with yet another new movie – Carnage Park. I’m not sure if this guy sleeps, and if insomnia is what’s responsible for this recent run of films… then I can’t say I wish him a speedy recovery. Let’s keep those creative juices flowing!

Filmed entirely in black and white, DARLING is an homage to the old school horror films that “get under your skin and stay there”. The film was picked up quickly after its Fantastic Fest premiere, and now we finally have a release date.

DARLING will be available in theaters on April 1st, 2016. No word on VOD/DVD/Blu Ray availability just yet, but we’ll keep you posted. While we wait, check out the debut teaser and plot synopsis below:

A lonely young woman moves into an old, mysterious Manhattan mansion. Hired as caretaker, it’s not long before she discovers the estate’s haunted reputation and troubling past— stories that slowly transform into a backdrop for her twisted and violent descent into madness…
