In a move that should surprise no one, TNT has officially ordered a pilot for a new television series structured around Swedish author John Ajvide Lindqvist’s LET THE RIGHT ONE IN. The book has already been adapted into a (fantastic) film–and then that film got turned into an (also good) American film. It would seem as if getting your existing film property turned into a television series is a badge of honor that many production houses are sharing this fall; as The Exorcist and even Lethal Weapon are also getting the TV Reboot treatment.

TNT programming exec, Sarah Aubrey calls LET THE RIGHT ONE IN a “watershed of rich storytelling…“, but I’m not so sure. As much as I loved the films, I have a hard time understanding how you spin that narrative into a weekly series. That said, I’ve been proven wrong before (looking at you, From Dusk til Dawn).

I suppose we’ll have to wait and see how it all plays out. Rest assured that we will have the latest for you right here at Modern Horrors, so stay tuned.
