Zombie films seem to be a dime a dozen these days, from the big screen to the comfort of your own living room on Sunday nights. Whether the zombie is limping or running, groaning, or even talking, zombies are pretty one dimensional beings that lack originality… until now. Animation director Yeon Sang-ho is making his live action directorial debut with South Korea’s first zombie film, TRAIN TO BUSAN, and from the looks of the trailer it’s going to be one intense ride.

What sets TRAIN TO BUSAN aside from our regular run of the mill zombie flicks is simple: location! We’ve witnessed zombies take over major cities in the United States, shopping malls, England, and even Jerusalem, but never (to my knowledge) have we seen them take on the Department of Transit, let alone in South Korea!

TRAIN TO BUSAN is a harrowing zombie horror-thriller that follows a group of terrified passengers fighting their way through a countrywide viral outbreak while trapped on a suspicion-filled, blood-drenched bullet train ride to salvation.

TRAIN TO BUSAN has a U.S. release date of July 22nd, 2016, but for now check out the trailer, and stills brought to us by our friends at Well Go USA.

While a zombie-virus breaks out in South Korea, a couple of passengers struggle to survive on the train from Seoul to Busan.
