Remember those early scenes of Annabelle when that creepy cult broke into the house and did all kinds of f’d up stuff? That was rad. I’ve long thought that those early moments were the highlight of the film, and I would love to have seen more from that director in the same vein. Well, wish granted.

“Inspired by the infamous Manson Family murder spree”; WOLVES AT THE DOOR takes place in 1969 (which certainly puts it in the general time frame of the Tate and LaBianca murders) and follows a pregnant woman named Sharon and her guests as they attempt to fend off ruthless attackers. That, coupled with the Groovy aesthetic shown in the trailer, goes a long way in making this one feel less like “inspiration” and more like “recollection”, and with all due respect to the actual victims and their families, I’m okay with that. John R. Leonetti was onto something in 2014, and I’m thrilled to see something come of it.

Four friends gather at an elegant home during the Summer of Love, 1969. Unbeknownst to them, deadly visitors are waiting outside. What begins as a simple farewell party turns to a night of primal terror as the intruders stalk and torment the four, who struggle for their lives against what appears to be a senseless attack.
