Is there a more rabid fanbase than the Evil Dead fanbase? The hype train for the series, premiering this Saturday on Starz, has been insane.  “Ash 4 President” campaigns, convention appearances by the cast, stellar trailers, excellent press reviews, and just the mere site of Bruce Campbell as Ash has  fans salivating.  Confession: I’m one of them.

And now, fellow Deadites, Starz has given us an additional present.  Ash vs Evil Dead has been renewed for a second season ahead of its first season premiere.  Best. News. Ever.

Plot Synopsis
Bruce Campbell will be reprising his role as Ash, the stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons –personal and literal. Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its “Evil” grip.
