You may have heard rumblings about writer/director Brandon Cronenberg’s latest film and how it made waves recently for having a hard time getting out of the NC-17 rating category down to a more marketable R rating. Personally I wanna see the NC-17 version of whatever you got, but I’m excited to see the R version for now and eagerly await the eventual director’s cut! Regardless of rating, we haven’t known much about the film until recently, but we finally have a trailer!

Mia Goth (X, Pearl) had a monster year in 2022 and looks to extend it into 2023 alongside Alexander Skarsgård (The Northman) and Cleopatra Coleman (The Last Man on Earth). The trailer starts out in a beautiful, sun-soaked island resort before quickly descending into darkness.

In Infinity Pool, an accident leads to everyone’s biggest foreign vacation nightmare: being accused of a crime for which the punishment is WAY more severe than it would be in your home country. Also for some reason there is a bit where everyone is riding in a convertible at night wearing absolutely terrifying masks! I’ve been a fan of Brandon Croneberg’s work so far and this looks like another uniquely unsettling film from him.

Infinity Pool will be in theaters January 27th, 2023.

While staying at an isolated island resort, James (Alexander Skarsgård) and Em (Cleopatra Coleman) are enjoying a perfect vacation of pristine beaches, exceptional staff, and soaking up the sun. But guided by the seductive and mysterious Gabi (Mia Goth), they venture outside the resort grounds and find themselves in a culture filled with violence, hedonism, and untold horror. A tragic accident leaves them facing a zero tolerance policy for crime: either you’ll be executed, or, if you’re rich enough to afford it, you can watch yourself die instead.
