The Contracted: Phase II hype train just keeps on building! We’ve discussed what we know, we’ve talked to director Josh Forbes, and we’ve had a look at the poster. We had heard things were going to be gross… and if this teaser trailer is anything to go off of, we are in for one hell of a treat.
IFC Midnight and XYZ Films will be releasing the film on September 4th with Boulderlight Pictures on board for production.

Contracted: Phase II follows the story of Samantha as she suffers from a mysterious and degenerative disease. The film centers on Riley, one of the last people to come in contact with Samantha, as he scrambles to track down those responsible for the outbreak before the highly contagious disease not only consumes his body, but the world as we know it.

There’s a sub-subgenre of zombie movies that only have one zombie in them (Deadgirl, Make Out with Violence, Contracted), and I’ve found the quality and effectiveness of those films tends to be way higher than the typical ZA hullabaloo. I think the narrow focus helps that kind of story.
