Director Gore Verbinski directed one of the most successful horror remakes of all time with 2002’s The Ring. It was also his breakout hit that made Hollywood really take notice, and he’s been helming the Disney Pirates of the Caribbean franchise since. Well, until his take on The Lone Ranger tanked hard at the box office.  Now Verbinksi is finally returning to horror, and based on the trailer, it’s about damn time.

The trailer, below, is everything I’d want in a trailer; hardly anything is given away about the plot, the stunning cinematography is on full display, and the cast led by Dane DeHaan, Jason Isaacs, and Mia Goth are also indicative that we have something both unique and haunting to look forward to.  I’m not entirely sure what’s going on in the trailer, but I do know that I never want to be in a tank full of eels. Creepy.
