Have you ever rented a room through Airbnb and quietly pondered all of the ways it could go horribly wrong? I know I have. And while I don’t know for sure, it looks like one of those horrible possibilities has happened to the characters in Dave Franco’s directorial debut, The Rental.

We haven’t been able to see much of this one up to this point, but a brand new clip arrived in our inboxes this afternoon, and the vibes are just right to be featured here on Modern Horrors. Check it out, below, and let us know what you think.

The Rental stars Alison Brie (GLOW), Dan Stevens (The Guest, Apostle), Sheila Vand (A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night), and Jeremy Allen White (Shameless). It’s co-written by Dave Franco and Joe Swanberg, and release is currently scheduled for July 24th. We’ll keep you posted.

Plot Synopsis
Two couples looking to celebrate their seed money from a new business venture, embark on a weekend getaway to a seemingly perfect house they’ve booked online. But what begins as a festive weekend for the four close friends turns into something far more sinister as secrets they’ve kept from each other are exposed and paranoia grows that they may not be alone.
