Unfortunately, the David Bruckner-directed Friday the 13th film was cancelled just weeks before production was set to commence. It’s cool though, because now we have an original film and concept from the man himself in THE RITUAL.

At first glance, it appears to blend survival elements with the classic “cabin in the woods” horror with supernatural trimmings. And while that concept may not be wholly original in and of itself, THE RITUAL looks like it has the chops to stack up against the best of them. The film is expected to release later this year on October 13th. Let’s hope they lose the “they should have gone to Vegas” tagline before then. Check out the trailer below:
