It’s been years since the announcement of CALL OF CTHULU by Focus Home Interactive. In that time, very little about the Lovecraftian universe developed by French company Cyanide Studio has been shared, so we figured it’s time we hook you up with everything you need to know about the upcoming game.

CALL OF CTHULHU is a first-person narrative pen and paper RPG horror game. As you take control of Edward Pierce, you investigate the Hawkin’s family house to find out the reason behind their murders. This is where the narrative aspect takes place; the more you look for clues the better your investigation goes forward. Your gameplay may also be a little different from that of your friends since your decisions will impact not only the story–but Edward as well. As the game progresses, Edward’s sanity becomes questionable. Don’t worry; though, there will be a sanity meter in the game to relay Edward’s mental state. There are also weapons throughout the game, but none of them can be used against any creatures you may come across. The point of the game is not to defeat creatures but to simply survive the nightmares you encounter.

CALL OF CTHULHU will contain 14 chapters and has an average gameplay of 10 to 12 hours. However, depending on how much time you invest in your investigation, you could clock as many as 18 to 20 hours into it. There are also four different endings; each determined by the decisions made throughout your campaign.

CALL OF CTHULHU is set to release at end of 2018. We’ll provide a concrete release date when one becomes available. Until then, check out the new E3 trailer below:
