Year after year, Black Fawn Films continues to unleash their now-established brand of Canadian chaos upon Horror audiences everywhere. With highlights such as Bite, Let Her Out, The Heretics, and I’ll Take Your Dead, the team has proven capable of delivering quality genre offerings regardless of sub-genre. Now, after tackling the horrors of technology, mental phobias, the human body, and crazy doomsday cults, director Cody Calahan (The Oak Room, Let Her Out, Antisocial) and producer Chad Archibald (I’ll Take Your Dead, The Heretics, Bite) are looking to lighten things up as they hop into the horror/comedy arena for the first time with the perfect dance partner–David Koechner (Anchorman, The Office, Cheap Thrills)!

The new film, titled Vicious Fun, is being described as “an outrageous mash-up of dread and humor” by Breakthrough Entertainment’s Vice President of Distribution, Craig McGillivray. Director Cody Calahan took a minute to address the new direction in a recent press release. Calahan says:

“It felt like the right time for us to branch out and make something outside our comfort zone. These characters are wacky, satirical and genuinely funny. I can honestly say that I’ve never had so much fun on set and I think that translates directly to the screen. Vicious Fun marks the start of a new slate of films for us and we’re committed to pushing ourselves in new directions.”

No release date has been announced, but we’ll be sure to share the good news as soon as it comes our way. Until then, check out the official plot synopsis along with our first look at David Koechner behind the scenes in Vicious Fun, below!

The film follows Joel, a caustic 1980’s film critic for a national horror magazine, who finds himself unwittingly trapped in a self-help group for serial killers. With no other choice, Joel attempts to blend in with his homicidal surroundings or risk becoming the next victim.
