It seems like every few months the creators of FRIDAY THE 13TH: THE GAME drop a new update that improves gameplay and adds FRIDAY lore for players. The latest patch, which is out today for the PlayStation 4 and PC. The patch will be out shortly for the Xbox One.

So, what’s new?

Well, players will finally be able to explore Camp Crystal Lake and other FRIDAY THE 13TH locales without a 12-year-old screaming various lewd insults in your ear. Now you can hunt AI counselors to your heart’s desire as you will only be able to play as Jason Voorhees. This is because creating convincing AI for Jason is difficult and people just want to play as Jason when they feel like it.

Also new is franchise-favorite Shelly Finkelstein with Larry Zerner reprising the role for the game. Shelly is directly responsible for Jason’s famous hockey mask. The character will be available in the game right away.

The Virtual Cabin 2.0, free to Xbox and PS4 players, is an improved version of the game’s original Virtual Cabin, which is more of a dev diary with plenty of hidden secrets.

The Level Cap has increased to 150, adding new Jason skins, kills, counselor clothing options and future content. For $2.99 (depending on region), a new premium pack adds three fresh Jason 7 kills.

And finally, just in time for all the feel-good holiday festivities, players will have increased chances to find Rare and Epic Perk rolls from December 18-23. From December 23-27, players will have an increased chance of finding Tommy Jarvis and Pamela Voorhees audio tapes. Double CP gains for all players will be available from December 23 to January 2.

Happy hunting when your version of FRIDAY THE 13TH: THE GAME updates!
