If you haven’t fired up FRIDAY THE 13TH: THE GAME recently, today may be a good day to power it back on and grab the latest update. It’s massive and hits all the platforms the game. There’s a new Jason, a new map and several tweaks throughout the game.

We live in a post-EA era where game developers have no problem charging ridiculous prices for even the tiniest bit of new content, but the creators of FRIDAY THE 13TH: THE GAME have no problem not only improving gameplay mechanics for free but also adding a ton of new content free of charge. Praise Jesus.

Jason from Part V and the Pinehurst map are both now available for both multiplayer play and offline. Part V has no level requirement to access and comes with three new kills—Hedge Trimmer, Last Break, and You’re so Vein. Sheldon is also now available as a counselor to play.

Other changes are minor, but overall add up to enough changes to change the play of the game. First, there will be reduced amounts of pocket knives and medical sprays throughout the map. Developers also changed the number of available spawns for each weapon per match. The fuse will no longer spawn in the same building as the phone box.

Jason has also received updates to make him more menacing in the games. He will begin each match with two additional throwing knives. His speed and grab range and cone are slightly increased.

These are just some of the updates FRIDAY THE 13TH: THE GAME receives today. There are improvements throughout as developers continue to listen to players and fans. The game has come a long way since its release, and it doesn’t look like developers are slowing down anytime soon with new content.
