It’s safe to say that the first several weeks of Friday the 13th: The Game have been tumultuous at best. And while things continue to get better across all release platforms, the game still isn’t where the developers would like it to be, and they’re working tirelessly to make up for it. They’ve done a great job at addressing the server issues publicly, and now they’re going a step further by launching they’re first content update FOR FREE.

That’s right. Starting on June 20th, players will all receive 13,000 upgrade points, two new outfits for each counselor, a double XP weekend, and the long-rumored “Retro Jason” from the original NES classic.

Check out the official announcement and new DLC trailer below. We’ll see you on the campgrounds!

Overall, Gun Media is very thankful to our fans, supporters and those interested in the game. We were completely overwhelmed by the amount of users that tried to play at launch, enough to break our servers and force us to upgrade. That process has evened out since then, however we are still working to smooth out the experience even more across all three platforms.
To thank our fans for their patience, we’re offering the first content update for free which includes the following;
  • ‘Retro’ Jason complete with chip tune music inspired by classic ’80s games as written and performed by Mitch Murder
  • New clothing for all counselors
  • A Double XP weekend lasting June 23rd to June 25th
  • 13,000 Customization Points to every account
This all goes live on June 20th!
