There are few things in life that get me more excited than a promising film arriving in my inbox out of the blue. When you cover the genre as much as we do, it’s easy to think that we’ve seen (or at least heard of) everything in the pipeline that is even remotely exciting. But no matter how many times i find myself in that mindset, I’m proven wrong time and time again. There’s simply no way to quantify the amount of quality independent genre products that are being produced month after month. It’s hard to comprehend just how many of them float under the radar, and we do our best to bring the ones that stand out to your attention–that’s exactly why you need to know about Chris Lang’s VALLEY OF DITCHES.

Set to premiere at this year’s Dances with Films festival in sunny Los Angeles, California, VALLEY OF DITCHES wears its 35 thousand dollar budget on its sleeve. Why? Because it’s playing alongside films with 10x their budget, and it looks just as good–if not better. There’s no fancy marketing machine or publicity team at their side to drum up viral interest in their work; everything is handled internally by a group of individuals that sincerely believe that they have created a product that stands alone. While I haven’t put my eyes on the entire film just yet, I get the idea that this is going to be something that hits us right in the gut.

We’ll have more information and content regarding VALLEY OF DITCHES in the near future, but check out their outrageously uncomfortable debut trailer, plot synopsis, and still images below while you wait.
