If you took Groundhogs Day, blended it with the Edge of Tomorrow, and threw in the producers of modern horror flicks like The Purge, The Visit, and Get Out–you’d have the latest release flick from Blumhouse and Universal Pictures. HAPPY DEATH DAY doesn’t take itself too seriously, appears to have a high body count (even if it’s the same body), and absolutely reeks of “young adult”. All of that said… I’m so in.

No word on an official rating (please be R), but we know that it drops on October 13th of this year. So buckle in, with Blumhouse and Universal behind this thing, I’m sure the promotion is just getting started. For now, have a look at the official plot synopsis and debut trailer below, and let us know what you think.

Tree must relive the same day over and over again until she figures out who is trying to kill her and why.
