It’s not unusual for family gatherings to involve tension and a bit of drama. Happy Times gives us a family dinner that devolves into all-out madcap murder. This film is touted as a horror comedy, but the trailer doesn’t show us much of the comedy aspect, unless I’m just not getting the jokes. Filmed with a mix of Hebrew and English, Happy Times gives a glimpse into an evening with an elite Jewish family in the Hollywood Hills. The trailer doesn’t give up much about why violence breaks out, so I guess we’ll have to wait for the full film to see why a perfectly nice evening becomes blood-soaked mayhem.

Happy Times will be released to festivals this fall. VOD and DVD releases will follow.

Plot Synopsis
Over the course of a Shabbat dinner at a fancy Hollywood Hills mansion, a toxic mix of alcohol, egos, cultural differences, lust, and greed derails the evening rather quickly and things spin out of control. Secrets are revealed, relationships are tested and getting out in one piece will be the ultimate challenge.
