Have I ever mentioned how much I love Home Invasion flicks (spoiler: yes)? Historically, I’ve always stated that the sub genre holds a special place in my heart due to the “plausibility” of it all–and I stand by that. But then a movie like JACKALS comes along and fucks that whole theory up. I wouldn’t call a crazed cult in Jackal masks showing up to steal your baby “plausible”, but I’ll be dammed if it doesn’t look entertaining.

All that to say: I have no clue why I like this shit as much as I do. All I know is that I’m in and that JACKALS hits limited theaters and VOD platforms on September 1st. Check out the official plot synopsis and trailer while you wait.

Jackals is a disturbing vision of a fractured family that will do anything to get their estranged son back from a murderous cult, but find themselves under siege when the cultists surround their cabin. A vicious battle unfolds, testing familial loyalties and unleashing a bloodbath in which there are few survivors.
