Fans clamoring for a Jeepers Creepers sequel have reason to rejoice today with the announcement that Myriad Pictures will be financing and handling international sales of Jeepers Creepers 3. Production will begin early next year and will shoot in Vancouver.

The creative team behind the first two entries will reunite once more, including writer-director Victor Salva. Francis Ford Coppola’s American Zoetrope will once again co-produce. Returning actors include Brandon Smith as Sergeant Davis Tubbs and Jonathan Breck as the Creeper.

Salva teases many long running questions will finally be answered in the third installment regarding the ancient Creeper, who emerges to feed on harvested organs for 23 days in the Spring every 23rd year. The plot will see Sergeant Tubbs gathering a task force to take down the Creeper once and for all, with the ensuing battle promising to leave a wake of gore and destruction.

These low budget fan favorites have amassed $120 million worldwide, so it’s surprising that it’s taken more than a decade for the sequel to be green lit. With production set to begin to quickly, we may be lucky enough to see the finished product as early as 2017.

“We are bringing back the Creeper’s truck, and will be addressing the big questions about The Creeper: what it is, where it came from and why it does what it does.”
