It may be unmentionable among friends, but every horror film fanatic gets a pit in their stomach when moving into a new home on the off-chance they may end up living in a house of horror. We owe that irrational fear to the haunted house sub-genre, and I am here to tell you that Vertical Entertainment’s THE REMAINS will be added to that list of supernatural real estate films to make you want to stay in your studio apartment. Forever.

THE REMAINS, written and directed by Thomas Della Bella, tells the story of a family that moves into an old Victorian home. Naturally, they discover a chest in the attic containing antiques tainted by a vengeful spirit. The family searches for the grim history of the house while the spirit executes it’s sinister plot to take the children by any means necessary.

THE REMAINS, staring Todd Lowe, Samuel Larsen, Nikki Hahn, Lisa Brenner, Brooke Butler, and Ashley Crow is scheduled for release on August 5th, 2016, check out the stills and trailer below.

Plot Synopsis
After a family moves into an old Victorian home, they discover a chest in the attic containing antiques tainted by a malevolent spirit. As the antiques slowly possess each family member, the spirit grows stronger, hellbent on kidnapping the children.
