WHOA!

When we started Modern Horrors back in 2014, it was a dream of ours to contribute back to the genre that we love so much in a meaningful way. And a little over a year ago, we took the first step to making that dream a reality. We sat down with a young filmmaker by the name of Jake Parker and developed the framework for what would eventually become God Country. We knew it was a long shot and that a ton of things would have to fall into place in order to actually make a movie, but here we are.

Thanks to all of you, our friends, family, and the horror community at large, God Country raised $25,627. We do not take this for granted. We cover crowdfunding campaigns on the site somewhat frequently, so we understand quite well how much of an anomaly this is.

We will obsess over every frame and sound effect to deliver the very best horror experience we can possibly provide…

We’ve been reviewing the works of others for years, and we promise to practice what we preach. Rest assured that we will obsess over every frame and sound effect to deliver the very best horror experience we can possibly provide on a project of this scale.

We’re heading into production on April 27th in Nashville, TN. Be sure to follow God Country on Twitter and Instagram at @GodCountryFilm for updates throughout production and beyond. If you backed our film, thank you from the bottom of our rotten hearts. This is all thanks to you.

God Country stars James David West, Jonathan Kent Robbins, Stevie Cook, and Michale Graves. We will take our time, but a festival release is targeted for 2020. We’ll keep you posted along the way.

Plot Synopsis:
